I am a PhD candidate at Department of Political Science at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I was a Visiting Scholar at the Korean Studies Institute at University of Southern California and a Visiting Research Fellow at the Graduate School of Asia-Pacific Studies at the Waseda University.
For the past 6 years of my doctoral research, I'm experienced in statistical analysis, experimental designs, and machine learning techniques. I'm proficient in R, Python, and SQL.
Aside from being a competent researcher, I have also worked with business partners in the industry through my Data Science Internship at the New York Times. I built an end-to-end machine learning product that helps the marketing team to drive efficient advertisement to acquire subscription.
Outside of work, I love learning languages - I speak Mandarin, Korean, and have started learning Japanese. I also enjoy bird watching, and have already seen more than 400 species in the Northern America.
